Less than 2 weeks

December 25, 2005

On January 5th, I'll start my online teacher training. I'll give you an update shortly afterward to let you know what it's like. It lasts for a month and allegedly takes about 10 hours a week. I'm pumped. My college has to pay them 200 bucks if I drop out so they're obviously committed to my success. Barring some catastrophic event, I plan to see it through out of sheer curiosity and the excitement of finally seeing another opportunity to advance. Maybe there's some new cheese around that corner.

Waiting patiently

I'm looking forward to hearing from the clearinghouse that administers the online instruction and testing for the small colleges in our state. I should hear from them within a week. It was a tremendous encouragement to get the statement, "We endorse your application regarding qualification status for part time instruction" from the college. Once I hear from the clearinghouse I'll send a copy to the college and the process should become a lot more interesting. At the very least, I can use my upcoming training to pad my resume to apply to other schools (if nothing is available here). More later as it develops.
